Players continue to speculate on the upcoming Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC. The Pokémon Day live stream has been announced. And we’re expecting some major announcements – namely new content to PS/V. Furthermore the numerous leaks that are making rounds on the web make sense about the DLC!
Note that there are numerous hints in game as well that point to a DLC. For example, Kalos and Paldea share borders. There are mysterious symbols in Area Zero. And the sketched Pokémon in the Scarlet / Violet book. Moreover, players can spin themselves clockwise (or counter-clockwise) in the game only to become dizzy. Gen VII’s Leon taught this spin move to players. But more importantly, spinning had to do with evolving Alcremie. Not to mention that the Galar region (based on England) is also north of Paldea and Kalos.
Pokémon Presents 2023
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet was announced on February 27, 2022 during a special livestream. February 27 is commonly known as Pokémon Day. The first Pokémon games (Red and Green) were released in Japan on February 27, 1996 for the Game Boy. But the special live stream is dubbed as Pokémon Presents. Visit the livestream on The Official Pokémon YouTube Channel on February 27, 2023 at 6:00 AM PST for the latest update.
Leak: Is this the National Dex?
Lo and behold! The Gen 9 sprite sheet has been leaked! And hold up! Do we see Alcremie? I’ve been wondering because whenever I spin, my character just gets dizzy. Players in Pokémon Sword and Shield can spin clockwise or counter-clockwise and end it with a cool pose. But if you have Alcremie in your party, it evolves in many ways based on spinning and the item it holds. Anyway there’s a leak on the Gen IX Pokedex via a sprite sheet.
The leak comes from Centro LEAKS, a notable source for Pokémon rumors and news. Well what does it mean? We’re probably getting closer to a game that has the National Dex on it. And we see that the sprites are in place for the UI. Perhaps this sprite sheet has something to do with Pokémon Home. Or perhaps they have this sprite sheet stored for general purpose only; a data bank of some sort. Yet this beauty is keeping us in suspense.
The early datamine confirms a Paradox Suicune and Virizion
A ROM made its way ahead of time before the launch of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. And some of the exciting datamine contain the different paradox forms found in the game. Including the paradox form of Suicune and Virizion which made it into the game as a page in the Scarlet / Violet book. However the paradox Suicune and Virizion were cut from the game. But then the sketches in the game still suggest that they will appear in the future. In addition, there is also a third mysterious Pokémon.
Suicune and Virizion are both legendary Pokémons. And remember that Sword and Shield expansions feature a lone legendary. If it’s going to be similar to the previous model, we should expect the first DLC this summer (or fall). Then the second DLC could feature the mysterious disk. But I wish that they would capitalize on this game with at least a third expansion. The Galar region awaits!
It’s my wishful thinking.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet… this will be fixed.
The Pokémon Scarlet and Violet version 1.2.0 changelog is posted. Some notable fixes include the HP gauge bug on Tera raids, input lag on coop-raids, and Quality of Life improvements to the Pokémon box. I’m a little sad about the new feature addition. We still can’t kick the soccer ball. But will we see the ever anticipated framerate optimization? Do note that the early changelog does not mention all fixes and features. But I’m not keeping my hopes up.
We will know more shortly about upcoming plans for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. The leaks make sense but nothing is official yet. Although we have good reason that a DLC is in the works. Some leaks also include Ash’s Greninja – which does makes sense because of the last Greninja raid. However, the Ash Greninja may be a placeholder for something else – namely Pokémon Unite. Stay tuned – it’s almost February 27!
