Thone and Liberty by NCSOFT

Throne and Liberty by NCSoft is an interesting MMORPG that will release (most likely) in mid-2023. And it plans to sell its main feature of rulership and exploration. The “Throne” from the title symbolizes the battle community with competitions and combat. The “Liberty” symbolizes the freedom to seek out your own adventures in the vast game world. Furthermore, the game will be playable on PC, Consoles, and Mobile Devices.

The developer mentioned that the moving experience unique to MMOs wouldn’t be as immersive on mobile unlike PC and Consoles. However, I think it’s still great to have its playability on mobile devices. This game has a massive world as well for you to explore and discover. Hence it should still feel immersive.

What’s amazing about the game is that the world has no boundaries. So basically you won’t see any loading screen. Even if you move to a different zone like when you are in a dungeon since they made the dungeon a seamless experience for everyone. In addition, NCSoft also implemented a weather system which has different effects like in the real world. Adding dynamic weather effects adds immersion and depth to any game after all.

Character Creation

The game has a feature where you can upload your own photo and it will try to match your facial features for you to use with your character. If you get tired of your face, Throne and Liberty also allows you to personalize and change your character’s appearance anytime during gameplay. Indeed this is an underrated feature. Believe us.

Classes

The classes in the game are defined by the weapons you wield. You do not have a set class. By changing your weapon, you can instantly change as a bruiser to a support healer. Equally important, this aspect reduces the grind of alt characters. Besides, an MMO that focuses on your Main is a welcome development.

Guild War and PvP

There’s also a guild war in the game. Within the fields of Throne & Liberty, two objects can be acquired only by guilds, the Blessing Stone and the Dimension Stone. These two stones together are called the Possession Stones. When you acquire the Possession Stones, your guild can enhance its capabilities as well as procurement of raw materials.

Most of the zones in the game are safe zones. But there are also events in the game where it will turn the whole zone into a PvP zone. Furthermore, there are also regional events where players can compete for approximately 20 minutes to move up in rank.

At this point, it is still unclear if the game is going to be free-to-play or if it’s paid. I’ve noticed from other MMOs that when it’s F2P, there is a great battle between the developers and the botters and I promise you that it’s not fun. Lost Ark is a prime example of F2P and deals with the bots since they launched. For now, we just need to wait a little bit more before we can try this very promising game.
