A shiny Rayquaza appears on Pokémon Scarlet and Violet and this raid will give players the chance to catch the legendary shiny Pokémon itself. Rayquaza is a legendary Gen-III Pokémon. It’s supposedly the arbiter between rivaling legendary Pokémons of Groudon and Kyogre. The raid is easy and this Pokémon comes clutch again. Note that it’s only a 5-star raid; you should be online and look for a five star dragon raid icon only.
Annihilape will solo Shiny Rayquaza
Annihilape, Aka Ghost Monke, comes in to save the day. And yes – spam Rayquaza with Rage Fist. I have my Annihilape with 252 ATTK, 252 Def, and 6 on HP. Item held is Shell Bell. Ensure that your Annihilape is level 100 with Max PP on Rage Fist. Annihilape play is a simple strategy so you can use a ghost Tera. Furthermore, Rage Fist is unaffected when Rayquaza nullifies the stats. But Rayquaza will use Hurricane, a flying type move, so a fighting type Tera is not recommended. Now simply spam Rage Fist to Terastallize, past the Rayquaza shield, until the home stretch to catch Rayquaza. Finally, choose a Luxury Ball which matches its shiny matte.
Tinkaton will also solo the shiny Rayquaza
I’ve also used Tinkaton. The EV spread would be 252 Def, 252 Attk, 6 HP while holding a Shell Bell. And sporting a Fairy type Tera. The strategy would be to rush on Terastallizing and buff after the shield. So have Tinkaton attack Play Rough 3 times to Terastallize. Then do Sword Dance once Rayquaza’s shield appears. You can perform 3 Sword Dances while monitoring your Tinkaton’s HP. But two Sword Dances would be enough; then Play Rough all the way to take down Rayquaza.
These are two Pokemon who are both available on Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. You can definitely try using another fairy type Pokémon such as Gardevoir, or Sylveon with Draining Kiss. Or with Azumarill’s Belly Drum, Play Rough after Rayquaza nullifies the buffs and shields up. There’s still time and it’s only a level 75 Rayquaza. But the raid ends on January 5!
