Rumours have been circulating for months on the Internet of another Silent Hill remake. My take was it would be a Silent Hill 3 remake due to Heather Mason’s popularity and players just explored the town of Silent Hill.
Now it makes sense!
Bloober and Konami announces that they are remaking the first Silent Hill.
Introducing Silent Hill 3 would definitely beg for a Silent Hill remake due to Harry Mason and the game’s interconnected premise. But it’s the other way around– first, remake Silent Hill and then remake the direct sequel, Silent Hill 3!
Other reasons why I thought the rumours were true:
- Remaking only Silent Hill 2 would make for a lonely title.
- I mean they’ve re-made a sequel? So then where’s the rest?
- More importantly, not capitalizing SH2’s over 2 million sales would stagnate their success.
Fans welcome another Silent Hill remake. For me, remaking the original Silent Hill next would place the Silent Hill 3 remake on to a special pedestal.
What would the Harry Mason remake look like? Not to mention, we will see a remake of searching for Harry’s little girl, Cheryl, too! The Silent Hill remake does not have a release date yet. But the Silent Hill 2 (remake) was announced in 2022 and was released in October 2024. So we may see the Silent Hill remake around 2027 or early 2028.
