Blizzard is making a new Warcraft game! Which is Warcraft 4, right? Which would make way for World of Warcraft 2, right?
AWESOME! Hahaha!
No.
Blizzard is making a new Warcraft game for smartphones (iOS and Android). Pre-registration is available now for Warcraft Arclight Rumble! I’m not disappointed, but indifferent. Even I’m thinking of giving it a try when it’s available. But this only makes me wonder when (if ever) will we get to see Warcraft 4?
Warcraft Arclight Rumble is a summoner line war game which features Warcraft lore and characters. It is a spin-off mobile game related to how Blizzard’s is attempting to break through mobile gaming. Honestly I just want to see Warcraf 4. Or at least how Blizzard will attempt to place this game in preparation for Warcraft 4.
Warcraft Arclight Rumble does not have base building. In Warcraft Arclight Rumble, players will deploy units instead (called minis) to overwhelm and destroy the opposing summoner. The units look like toys which is nice. Five factions in the game include: Alliance, Horde, Beast, Blackrock, and Undead. AOE spells are available from time to time. Leaders are the heroes in the game. Players will capture objectives in the map which can turn the tide on the battlefield. And there is no actual release date yet.
It’s fine for Blizzard to add another Warcraft game. Arclight Rumble is nothing new per se. While it’s truly not a bad idea to introduce a Warcraft game in the mobile arena, I think players are getting antsy for Warcraft 4 which can pave way to WOW 2. Look at Overwatch 2. It’s the least Blizzard game to have a sequel when OW2 is virtually the same game.
