I’m back in Palworld after the Tides of Terraria crossover major update. And I have to say that the the major updates have made the game feel fun and fresh. The contents from Feybreak, Christmas seasonal event, Cross-Over play, and Tides of Terraria are all great updates.
However there are still some things that I think will help make Palworld even better. And also some things that I think are holding the game back.
Here’s a list how to make Palworld even better, Pocketpair:
Aesthetics
- Add weather events such as rain or hail storms. The world will even look more gorgeous and dynamic with weather. The sky and picture can filter to gray with a storm. Then add raindrops on the ground; what a picturesque and relaxing scene. The weather can also buff or nerf certain Pals when exploring or working in the base.
- Need more background ambiance sounds. I’m a fan of ASMR. I’m simply sit back and relax while watching my Pals work in the base. Again, you can bet that I will create the best house inside the base if it’s raining in Palworld. I’ll grab something warm, stay under my roof while it’s raining and leave the work to my Pals.
- It’s time to add background music. There is background music in the game, but it plays on encounters. There should be music while simply idling in the base too.
- Add vertical half-walls or half-stairs. But I’m not sure if they’ll add this with the current navigation mesh of the game. The waypoints Pals use may be 1×1 tiles and anything less may lead to bigger bugs. But it’s worth a shot implementing half tiles. It’s a waste for a stair to take a whole tile but it will do.
- Improve enemy spawn points. Some enemies still clip into the map on the side of slopes and cliffs. Add more practical raid spawns if you want raids on player bases to work.
- Be able to name base locations. And I can’t wait for this simple feature when the map is littered with unnamed POIs.
- Can you please add paw pads to Chillet? The paws look like mochi – which is cute too – but I think Chillet having paw pads look fitting.

Gameplay
- [Bug] Pal visitors are attacked by active Pal from party when in base. Specifically when you’ve set your Pals to be aggressive. They’ve also attacked the medal merchant.
- Add first person view. This change will definitely break barriers on the game’s genre, add immersion. Palworld weapons involve melee and shooting anyway. Ark, look away!
- Add auto forward key. The finger can start to hurt from holding down the forward key.
- Be able to assign Pals to beds. It extends the base building even further. It will definitely give a touch of personality to player bases.
- They’ve refined job assignment when deploying Pal outside the base. But Pals stop once they exhaust the current node.
- Be able to keep the most recent expedition roster instead of auto-assign. Sometimes I want to manually assign who I want to send to an expedition and keep it that way once the expedition is completed. I want to be able to send the same chosen roster again at the click of a button or two.
- The party needs to be at least 5. Five Pals feel limited and I’m leaning more to increasing the active party now that we’ve added more Pal storage.
- Why is it hard to catch low level Pals at some point? Maybe it’s due to certain lot of Pals, but low level Pals become annoyingly hard to catch even on adjusted settings. I’m trying to catch Level 5 Syndicate Thugs with a Giga Sphere and it hits 51% on the first phase, but they still escape. I start to wonder about the RNG and it becomes annoying.

Quality of Life
- There should be an unstuck button. And not a respawn button. And this unstuck button can be grayed out when the player is interrupted by battle. I clipped into the map at weird times when I’m using a flying mount in dungeons or when I land near the edge of waterfalls.
- The game still needs improvement when Pals need to feed during work. Pals should fill up their hunger meter to full or near full so that they don’t make trips often to eat. Alternatively, they could eat when the meter is almost empty. Perhaps place another if-then clause that tells the Pal whether there’s a few or a lot of food quantity on the feedbox they’re interacting. If there’s a few, then eat enough; if there’s a lot – like hundreds – then eat to fill.
- Add a tooltip to skill fruits. The description on the menu only says that it will add the skill to the Pal. But it would be more helpful to say what the skill does too.
