Images leaked from a supposed Oblivion Remaster!

It is only a matter of time until the Oblivion Remaster becomes official. Image leaks of the supposed Oblivion Remaster were found on the Virtuous website. That is through the website’s file directory.

Virtuous Ltd is a AAA game development studio. And they co-developed the Metal Gear: Snake Eater remaster with Konami.

Bethesda is one of Virtuous’ clients pointing to Oblivion. Rumours have been going around for months about an Oblivion remaster using Unreal Engine 5. The remaster would also exist along with Skyblivion, a Skyrim mod but will feature Oblivion.

Overall the graphics look gorgeous.

The Virtuous Gaming website’s directory was open. It’s unknown if it was an accident. But the images were accessed. Then they were shared on Imgur. Virtuous’ patched their website directory afterward.

What is Oblivion?

Oblivion takes place in the province of Cyrodiil and when portal gates started to appear thanks to a cult named Mythic Dawn. These gates connect to an evil realm called Oblivion. It is up to the player stop the Mythic Dawn and ultimately shut down all gates from an impending invasion.

There was Oblivion before Skyrim. Specifically, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was my first Elder Scrolls game. I knew the third installment, Morrowind, but I didn’t like it at all. On the other hand, Oblivion was a childhood bridge of exploration, immersion, and modding. The game was so good. And we all know what happened to Skyrim. Yes, I remember seeing folks lining up in our local EBGames (now Gamestop) when I was driving back late from Walmart.

Oblivion’s launch was also the time when I bought a large screen for my gaming rig. It was the perfect immersive RPG at my time. But it had its flaw: I didn’t like the appearance of the character models. They looked like frogs. I wondered if I could make the game characters appealing. Including my armor. And so this was also the game that introduced me to the modding community.

I was also getting a little hangover from finishing Fable. I loved having player housing. Oblivion filled in that want when you could buy a house for each town in Oblivion. Pair that gameplay with modding and you’re looking at a slow life isekai setting in 2006-2008.

Official Announcement?

Rumors are circulating again that they will make the official announcement next week or toward the end of April. It’s almost official. There has been no denial about how real these images are. So as mentioned it’s just a matter of time.
